The story
"I first got to know Bronkhorst through my wife, who had previously completed an internship there. Hearing about her positive experiences sparked my curiosity and encouraged me to apply myself. As I learned more about the company, I quickly felt that it was a place where I would fit in. The combination of technological innovation across a wide range of industries, a strong focus on sustainability, and the warm, family-oriented culture immediately appealed to me. What stood out most to me on my first day was the atmosphere. It was so open and informal that I felt comfortable right away almost like walking into a living room where everyone is free to be themselves. That was especially important to me. Because of my autism, I can become overstimulated more easily, so a supportive and understanding work environment makes a real difference. At Bronkhorst, this was taken into account from day one. People listened, thought along with me, and made me feel truly seen and valued. Since then, I have completed two internships within the Strategic Marketing & Communications department. During my first internship, I worked on the Bronkhorst Bode, an internal communications project that I had the opportunity to redesign and modernize. During my graduation internship, I was able to further develop my skills, take ownership of projects, and gain valuable hands-on experience. The combination of creativity, communication, and collaboration made every day both educational and rewarding."
Growing professionally and personally
"What I enjoyed most about my internships were the people and the team. At Bronkhorst, you are not treated as ‘just an intern’; you are truly part of the department. You are involved in projects, encouraged to contribute ideas, and given the freedom to ask questions. In fact, that would be my biggest piece of advice for future interns: be curious and ask questions. Everyone is happy to help, and it is one of the best ways to learn.
Throughout my internships, I not only gained professional knowledge but also grew significantly on a personal level. I learned how to plan more effectively, collaborate with different colleagues, and manage responsibilities within a professional organization. What surprised me most was how dynamic and diverse the communications field really is. These experiences confirmed that I made the right study choice and that this is a field where I can truly combine my creativity with my passion."
My first permanent job
"The positive experience of my graduation internship eventually led to something even more special: my first permanent job. I recently started as a Communications Officer at Bronkhorst, with a focus on design and photography. I am incredibly grateful to remain part of this team and continue building my career here.
