What to do

As the Sales & Application Engineer, you report to the National Sales Manager and Country Manager. You will work closely with the sales, service, and internal support teams. Bangalore will be your home office, while regular travel throughout Karnataka and Kerala and occasional visits to the Bronkhorst India office in Pune are part of the role.

Key responsibilities
Sales & Customer Development:

  • Drive sales growth and achieve agreed sales targets within Karnataka and Kerala.
  • Identify and acquire new customers while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing accounts.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and build long-term customer partnerships.
  • Understand customer requirements and align Bronkhorst solutions to their applications and processes.
  • Negotiate prices, discounts, commercial terms, and sales agreements.
  • Follow up on quotations, opportunities, projects, and outstanding payments.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer support and relationship management.


Application Engineering:

  • Analyze customer applications, process flows, and system requirements in close cooperation with customer R&D, instrumentation, and process teams.
  • Recommend the most suitable products and solutions from the Bronkhorst portfolio.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop customer-specific solutions.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and on-site support.
  • Support installation activities, troubleshooting, and after-sales service when required.
  • Provide first-line technical assistance and application support throughout the customer journey.


Sales Operations & Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate techno-commercial quotations and proposals.
  • Manage project tracking from enquiry through order execution.
  • Record customer visits and maintain accurate CRM documentation.
  • Analyze sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates for management.


Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and developments within relevant industries.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support market growth initiatives.
  • Participate in trade fairs, seminars, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and annual sales and budget activities.

What to bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in industrial sales, technical sales, application engineering, instrumentation, automation, or process control.
  • Strong understanding of measurement and control instrumentation.
  • Ability to interpret datasheets, P&IDs, and process documentation.
  • Experience with flow meters, controllers, transmitters, valves, or similar instrumentation systems.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical presentations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for customer visits and business meetings within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive and customer-centric mindset.


Preferred

  • Communication skills in Kannada and/or Hindi.
  • Experience conducting technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel independently using a bike or car.
