“At Bronkhorst, you get the space to learn, make mistakes, and build something special together.”
The story
"During my Applied Physics studies at university, I often missed the connection between theory and real-world application. That motivated me to move away from purely academic research and look for an environment where innovation becomes tangible. At Bronkhorst, I found exactly that: a company where research and practical applications come together. The combination of a driven family business, a strong sense of responsibility, and social engagement immediately appealed to me and matched how I view work. I started as a Project Engineer, like many colleagues in R&D, working on the development of a new sensor. It was a challenging assignment, but with the support of experienced colleagues, I successfully completed it. Today, I lead a team of talented and determined engineers developing future-proof technologies for leading high-tech companies worldwide. My role is not only to provide direction, but also to stay people-focused and ensure we work towards shared goals. Our department is involved across multiple phases of the product lifecycle from research and development to industrialization, validation, and even customer-specific problem solving. We continuously create innovative solutions that did not exist before, requiring creativity, technical depth, and strong collaboration."
Daily work and projects
"My work is diverse. While my background is technical, a large part of my role now focuses on guiding people and teams. I switch between technical discussions and leadership development, which keeps my work dynamic and engaging. Much of what I have learned comes from hands-on experience. The 70-20-10 learning philosophy is clearly visible here, learning by doing is just as important as theory.
One of the projects I am proud of is the further development of thermal sensor technology, as well as contributing to a new generation of thermal flow controllers. These innovations require precision across the entire process, from concept to production. In these projects, I act as the “technical conscience,” ensuring that decisions are not just effective today but also sustainable for the future."
Growth, culture and motivation
"At Bronkhorst, you are continuously challenged to develop yourself. From day one, I was given the freedom to explore, experiment, and learn from mistakes. Beyond technical skills, I have grown in leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking. Currently, I am expanding my knowledge into business-related topics, developing an entrepreneurial mindset alongside my technical expertise.
The culture at Bronkhorst reflects its identity as a family business. There is a strong sense of collective responsibility: people support you, but expectations are also high. Continuous learning and broad development are central. You work with highly skilled colleagues who are always willing to help each other, which creates a strong and positive team dynamic.
What motivates me most is building something together, not just products, but also the organization itself. I have seen Bronkhorst grow over the years, and I have grown alongside it. Seeing progress in technology, in people, and in myself continues to drive me every day. At Bronkhorst, you have the opportunity to shape your own career path. It is not about following a fixed route, but about the journey you take and the value you create along the way."
