“What I love most about my job is helping someone take the next step in their career while also contributing to Bronkhorst’s growth.”
The story
"Since November 2022, I’ve been working as a recruiter at Bronkhorst. That means almost everyone who applies will meet me at some point. Not because I like to interfere, but because I schedule the interviews, ask the questions and sometimes help ease the nerves. Think of me as the friendly gatekeeper, coffee or tea included. I already knew Bronkhorst as a client. It is down to earth, approachable and no nonsense. When the recruiter vacancy came up, I immediately knew this was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss. It turned out to be the right choice, as I still enjoy working here every day. In my role, I collaborate with managers across the entire company, which allows me to quickly get to know both the organization and its people. What I value most is recruiting my future colleagues. You meet someone in an interview and later run into them at the coffee machine or a company event. Sometimes they recognize me from that first conversation, sometimes they don’t. Both are fine. New colleagues bring fresh ideas and keep us sharp. That is what makes my work so rewarding. I help people take the next step in their careers while they strengthen Bronkhorst with new perspectives. A true win win."
From HR Foundations to a Passion for Recruitment
"My career started with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, where I learned the fundamentals of employment law, organizational development and people management. I put this knowledge into practice at Randstad, where I worked as a recruiter, dealing with labor agreements, company policies and, most importantly, people. It was my first real introduction to the dynamics of HR and recruitment.
After Randstad, I joined a construction company, where I spent six years working through reorganizations. It could be challenging, but it was also incredibly valuable. You learn how organizations change, how it affects people and how important clear communication is.
I then moved into career coaching, guiding people through reintegration and outplacement programs. This work requires empathy, structure and a strong understanding of the job market.
I later joined a technical company where I combined HR advisory with recruitment. When a former colleague invited me to join a technical recruitment agency focused on higher education profiles, I knew for sure that recruitment is where I belong. It is people focused, analytical and always evolving.
With around 15 years of experience in HR, ranging from HR advisor to career coach, recruitment remains my favorite discipline. It is where everything comes together: people, organizations, ambitions and opportunities. If you enjoy variety, this field never gets boring."
